Conversations 18 - Another Year With You

Do you know what awkward feels like? It's when I take weeks to gather the words and the courage to talk to you only to find myself frozen with fear as nervousness runs around in my head when I have you standing a foot away from me.

It gets worse when I have to express my feelings for you. It's at that moment when the mind starts paying way too much attention to other body functions, stealing the words away from my mouth and forcing the little few that make it through to come out in a stammer. As for the rest of the confidence, it goes missing with the transparent facial expressions that everyone else seems to notice and the cunning somebodies calling them out.

Do you know what affection feels like? It's when I manage to stand in front of you with a hopeful expression and all the hooting and name calling in the background; searching for meaningless words when your own expressions of love deliver me the happiness that it both overwhelming and encouraging.

It's when havi…

"If you've played the elevator game, you'd know how terrifying the other dimension could be. I, however, had a rather wonderful experience, mostly because I was able to get rid of my annoying sister."

If There's A Superpower You Could Choose

Would you choose all the smarts of problem-solving? Or take the lead with brute strength? Perhaps flight would interest you? You could also go for mastery over one of the elements - fire, water, ice to name a few.

There's a reason superhero comics are so popular. The powers are where all the cool lies and examining the limits of these powers are a fun way to waste some time. Of course, the heroes without powers have the coolest gadgets (looking at you, Batman) but the 'super' element of powers is what often makes taking the bad guy down more fun.

With that said, what is the superpower of your choice? Between the psychics and the more flashy, physical beasts, shape-shifting is one of the most overlooked powers. And the one that I'd stand by.

Associated with the incredibly useful Mystique from X-Men, shape-shifting is very effective in getting things done, as evident from the many achievements and heists the character has pulled off in the comics and other media. On the…

The New Year Is Coming Soon. What's the Plan?

Between all the high and low points of my writing, this blog has been around for over five years now. What started out as a log of a magical story of infinite success, now showcases tales of love and life, mixed with seemingly random thoughts and ideas of the human mind.
It began in March of 2013 - at a time when I wanted to tell every possible story that I can find in the world, across a variety of subjects and channels - targeting an overwhelming goal for a single person.
Then came the revisions, a new set of targets to achieve based on a much better analysis of my own self and my abilities.
There was a draft of a full-length novel that featured, probably, the worst of my writing and storytelling while defining my own ambition to tell a story for all the right reasons.
It still took a few more revisions and analysis to get to this point - writing new stories, deleting the bad ones, taking down the unfinished projects and a few more steps.
The start of the new year allows a fresh se…

Quotes 027

"There's something about a failed relationship that makes people come back to it over and over again. Maybe it is loyalty to their partner. Or the feeling of being left out. Perhaps, it is just the laziness of having to do everything from scratch with someone new."

Afraid 25 - The Thing In My Room

"I am glad that all the lights were turned off in my room. When I woke up around 4 AM in the morning, I could barely make out someone or something in front of the mirror, smiling creepily at its own reflection. Honestly, I am kinda scared right now because right before I shut my eyes in fear, I am certain I saw the thing twist its neck in my direction, its grin widening."
